The persuasive device is explained, including how it is used to persuade or convince a reader (explanations that are necessary to include on the new SAT Essay).
Use this chart as you practice the new SAT Essay. It will simplify the analysis process because it narrows down the persuasive devices that need to be considered. As you practice writing your essay, paraphrase "how each device is used to persuade or convince," so that writing the essay is almost effortless on the day of the exam.
A brief explanation of appeal to authority, appeal to logic, and appeal to emotion is also included.
